First week of May

This weekend was beautiful.  I thought I'd share some pictures of the garden yesterday.
We have quite a few apple trees blooming.

Garlic, planted in October around now-gone fall broccoli.
Growing behind curly parsley that is coming back to life.

Sugar snap peas climbing with newly-transplanted lettuces behind.

Purple-sprouting broccoli.  Planted last July, I think.

More snow peas just transplanted.  Overwintering bulb onions behind them.

Rainbow chard from last fall.
It lived under a hoop all winter and I'm so grateful for it this spring.

New lettuces, mizuno, radiccio.
Overwintered lettuce is still feeding us... I've been so pleased with it.

Barrel-o-mint

I see blossoms on the strawberries!!

Planted some espalier cherry trees on the north garden
fence 2 weeks ago.  Easier to keep hungry birds out of them...
I hope.

Oregano taking over marjoram taking over lambs ears taking over bee balm.

Kids playing.  Barrels make remarkably good toys.
